Macro Val's Healthy Cooking Classes

Chef Val will continue offering cooking classes online, using Zoom, plus classes in her home in Westland.

You can learn about healthy, whole foods in the comfort of your own home, even if you don't live close enough to attend a class. Zoom is easy to use, you do not even need to sign up for an account.

This is the perfect opportunity for anyone who lives too far to attend a class in person

Think you have to give up taste for health? Think again.

Chef Val has created meat-free, dairy-free, sugar-free recipes that you will actually enjoy eating. When you attend a Macro Val Cooking Class you will learn not only how to prepare vegetarian dishes, you will learn the benefits of each ingredient and proper cutting techniques as well.


How Zoom works:

  • Choose which class(es), listed below, you wish to attend, and pay the fee using the Add To Cart button.
  • On the day of the class, you will receive an email with the recipe and a link to the Zoom cooking class.
  • If you have not used Zoom before, when you click on the link you will be asked to download a Zoom file. This file enables you to use Zoom, but you will not be asked to sign up to Zoom.
  • In order to be sure everyone is connected on time, please click the link and join the class 15 minutes before it starts.

You can participate in the cooking class without having your camera on. You will see the cooking class, but no one will see you.

You will be able to ask questions during cooking class using the chat feature.
There will be time at beginning of class and end of class for all to communicate. During the class instruction all students will be muted to ensure everyone can hear Val clearly.


Use the "Add to Cart" button after the class description to sigh up for the class.

Wed. June 9- Quinoa Leaf Lettuce Chick Peas Basil Salad
6:30 to 7:30 PM - $20.00 - Through Zoom
Quinoa and chick peas are both great for your heart! This salad has a light, refreshing flavor perfect for summer. I will teach you all the health benefits of the ingredients. This salad has a cooling effect on the body to help you stay cool during the hot days.

Wed. June 23 - Quinoa Green Olive Water Chestnuts Salad
6:30 to 7:30 PM - $20.00 - Through Zoom
Quinoa, perfect for a whole grain summer salad, is high in protein and full of antioxidants. I will teach how to make this salad featuring tofu, green olives, water chestnuts, cucumbers, and it is a complete meal also. This recipe is heart healthy.

Wed. June 30 - In Person _ Grilling Outdoors Cooking Class
6:00 to 8:30 PM - $55.00 - At Chef Val's house
My outdoor grilling cooking classes are my most popular. Taught outdoors on my back patio, I will be grilling outdoors. The class will feature whole foods veggie burgers, grilled vegetables, and more. Grilling tips and techniques will be taught in the class.
